Our Bikes
For our rental we have exclusively Specialized Bikes. Our bikes are Trail Riding Bikes, Hard Tail, very solid and great to handle. The aluminium Frame comes in four differnt sizes, to make sure everybody gets the Model that fits. The components are of high quality and all from well known companies like shimano sram and suntour. You will be very happy with the riding characteristics and the handling.
We have a solid stock of spare parts and the bikes leave the shop for rent in perfect, well maintained condition. When you come to mestia, you will realize that there is nothing like a bike shop, so we have to do everything by ourself. The closest, well sorted biciycle shop is a 9 hour car ride away. We know how bad it feels to ride a bike that isn´t adjusted and maintained well, so we do our best to deliver best quality for our customers.
Our spcialized bikes are equipped with shimano combi pedals, these pedals are designed to be used with clips and without. We don´t rent cycling shoes, so if you want to ride with clips, bring your own. All shoes equiped with the shimano SPD system are compatible. If you don´t have, don´t worry! You can perfectly ride our bikes with you running or treking shoes.
Our Tours
Our Guides, Lasha and Besken are enthusiastic about mountainbiking since their childhood, grown up and living in Svaneti, they know every stone around. In Winter both are skitouring guides, so physically fitness is never a problem! They dont only know everything about the trails, but also about the unique culture and the very old tradations of the people living in the villages around Mestia. We do a lot of different tours to suit all levels of physical fitness and technical riding skills. Visit our shop, even if nobody is there, you will find all informations about upcoming tours there.
Some thoughts and reasons why you should come with us on a tour instead of exploring by yourself
- Riding together is much more fun than doing it alone. You will meet lots of similar minded people from all over the world. The shared experiences are the better ones!
- There is little information about mountain biking in Svaneti. If you find some trail descriptions they might not be correct. Dont rely on anonymous tips from strangers. You might end up in really dangerous situations or get lost in the wild Svaneti mountains. Safety first!
- Lasha and Beshken know everybody in this ultra remote region. If there are any problems they can eather help by themselves or exactly know who to call to find adequate solutions.
- Biking is not only riding from A to B. The route is the goal. You will be surprised how much there is to see and explore, you miss a lot without the local guys who know the details.
- Our bikes are in perfect condition, but a flat tire is fixed faster together, especially with the guide who knows how. Save your time and nerves for the good stuff.
- Getting to spots away from Mestia is only possible with a 4WD car, we have it, so no worries about that when joining us,
When joining a tour we recomend to bring: a rain jacket, drinking water, sunglasses and sunprotection, some snacks (there are some tours where you can buy something, we of course will let you know) and, most important a good mood!
Prices
All prices are in GEL (Georgian Lari). We also except € and US$. We use the official exchange rates from Bank of Georgia and of course there is no comission. Our project is small and this is our first season, so card payment is not possible at the moment (thanks for your understanding).

Our bikes are brand new and we take good care of the babys! The bikes come with a helmet plus a lock. The longer you rent, the more you save!

Prices for our guided tours
There are countless options around Mestia. Our tours start in the morning and end in late afternoon. Some Tours start right in town, for others we need our 4WD Mitsubishi Delica to reach the starting points. Thats why we have two different prices for the guiding. The price is for the guiding and will be divided through the number of guests. Bike rental is NOT included. If you are intersted in a multi day tour with overnight stays in the small villages, email us as soon as possible, we will start planing your trip immidiately and let you know about prices. You will be surprised how affordable these tours are.

Example: A tour starting in Mestia with 6 participants is 330 GEL divided through 6. So the price per person will be 55 GEL for the whole day tour. The same tour will be 66 GEL if only 5 guests join the day (330 GEL divided trough 5).
Good To Know
Svaneti is an undiscovered mountain bike Eldorado. Extremely spacious and sparsely populated. Unlike in the Alps, where an unbelievable boom has set in in recent years, hardly anyone in the greater Caucasus is out on a mountain bike. Rarely do you meet like-minded people on the countless trails. There is so much to discover!
Top fit cycling enthusiasts plan the trails at over 3000m and sporty occasional bikers who want to explore the wonderful forest paths around Mestia will be just as enthusiastic as mountain bike newcomers who have just discovered the sport for themselves.
A paradise for ALL bikers!
What you should definitely pay attention to when biking in Svaneti:
- Unlike mountain biking, hiking is very popular in the Svaneti area. It is important to always be careful on the trails and watch out for others who explore the region on foot. Always pay attention and be respectfull. If in doubt, it is better to join a guided tour and enjoy the impressive mountain scenery around Mestia free of stress and worries.
- People in the small mountain villages you will pass by are always very friendly and interested. The Svans like it a little crazy and it is not uncommon for people to invite you for tea or chacha (traditional Georgian schnapps), but be careful: the home made stuff rarely has the 40 percent that is usual in Europe. Usually it's more towards the 60. The same applies here: If you pass the small towns, it's better to slow down, considerate and keep your eyes open.
- On the few paved roads out there, you have to be really careful! Due practically nobody is on the roads with the bike, the locals are not used to showing bikers consideration. This is by no means malicious intent, but it is simply not necessary in normal cases. So if you cover sections on more or less paved roads, watch out!
- If you have a break on your tours, remember to take your rubbish with you. Please leave nothing behind in nature so that everything stays as it is.

Our partner hotel for all winter activities is the Suntower Hotel. In summer we can use the small but nice ski room for our rental. Thanks a lot for that! If you are looking for accommodation, we can fully recommend the hotel. Extremely fair priced, very comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast!
The nice lady at the hotel reception has a lot to do and is not responsible for the rental. She can't help you with this either. So come straight to our shop in the back of the hotel. You will find all the information there!
During the day you will find us on the mountain with our guests, so we can´t be at the shop. If you want to rent a bike, please send us a message via Whatsapp and Viber, or email us. We will prepare everything and you can then pick up your bike from our shop. Our project is quite small and we cannot always be on site, we kindly ask for your understanding!

Unsere Bikes
Für unseren Verleih haben wir ausschließlich Specialized Bikes. Unsere Räder sind Tail Riding Bikes, Hard Tail, sehr solide und klasse im Handling. Die Aluminiumrahmen gibt´s in vier verschiedenen Größen, jeder soll das passende Modell bekommt. Die Komponenten sind von hoher Qualität und alle von bekannten Firmen wie Shimano Sram und Suntour. Ihr werdet mit den Fahreigenschaften und dem Handling sehr zufrieden sein.
Wir haben ein solides Ersatzteillager und die Fahrräder verlassen den Verleih in einwandfreiem und gepflegtem Zustand. Wenn Ihr nach Mestia kommt, werdet Ihr feststellen, dass es weit und breit keinen Fahrrad-Laden gibt, wir müssen alles selbst machen. Der nächste, gut sortierte Fahrrad-Shop ist 9 Autostunden entfernt. Wir wissen wie schlecht es sich anfühlt ein Fahrrad zu fahren, das nicht gut eingestellt und gewartet ist, deshalb tun wir unser Bestes, um unseren Kunden die beste Qualität zu bieten.
Unsere Specialized Bikes sind mit Shimano Kombipedalen ausgestattet. Diese Pedale sind so konzipiert, dass sie mit und ohne Clips verwendet werden können. Wir vermieten keine Fahrradschuhe, also wenn Ihr mit Clips unterwegs sein möchtet, bringt Eure eigenen von zuhause mit. Alle mit dem Shimano SPD-System ausgestatteten Schuhe sind kompatibel. Wenn nicht, keine Sorge! Mit Lauf- oder Trekkingschuhen kannst Du unsere Bikes genauso fahren.

Unsere Guides, Lasha und Beshken, sind seit ihrer Kindheit vom Mountainbiken begeistert. Beide sind in Swanetien aufgewachsen und kennen in Swanetien jeden Stein. Im Winter sind beide Skitouren-Guides, die körperliche Fitness ist also nie ein Problem! Sie wissen nicht nur alles über die Trails, sondern auch über die einzigartige Kultur und die uralten Traditionen der Menschen, die in den Dörfern rund um Mestia leben. Wir bieten Touren für alle, egal ob Einsteiger oder Vielfahrer. Besucht uns in unserem Shop, auch wenn wir gerade nicht da sind, findet Ihr dort alle Informationen zu den anstehenden Touren.
Hier einige Gründe warum Ihr bei uns eine Tour buchen solltet anstatt die Gegend auf eigene Faust zu erkunden
- Über das Biken in Swanetien gibt es kaum Informationen. Wenn Ihr Routenbeschreibungen findet, sind diese möglicherweise nicht korrekt. Verlasst Euch nicht auf anonyme Tipps von Fremden. Gefährliche Situationen sind vorprogrammiert und sicherlich nicht das was Ihr bei Eurem Georgien Trip braucht. Safety First!
- Lasha und Beshken kennen jeden, nicht nur die Berge rund um Mestia wie ihre Westentasche, sondern auch die Menschen in den entlegensten Dörfern. Bei Problemen können sie entweder selbst helfen oder wissen genau, an wen sie sich wenden können, um adäquate Lösungen zu finden.
- Radfahren bedeutet nicht nur, von A nach B zu fahren. Der Weg ist das Ziel. Ihr werden überrascht sein, wie viel es zu sehen und zu entdecken gibt. Mit den Locals an Eurer Seite könnt Ihr Eure Touren genießen und müsst Euch um sonst nichts kümmern.
- Unsere Fahrräder sind in einwandfreiem Zustand, aber ein platter Reifen kommt vor und lässt sich gemeinsam schnell reparieren. Spart Euch die Zeit und Nerven!
- Die Dörfer außerhalb von Mestia sind nur mit Allradfahrzeugen zu erreichen. Bei unseren Touren ist der Transfer zu, und von den Spots dabei, wir kümmern uns darum.
Wenn Ihr bei uns eine Tour bucht, empfehlen wir Euch folgendes mitzubringen: Eine Regenjacke, Trinkwasser, Sonnenbrille und Sonnenschutz, ein paar Snacks (bei einigen Touren können gibt´s unterwegs was, wir lassen Euch das dann natürlich wissen!) und vor allem gute Laune!
Preise
Alle Preise sind in GEL (georgisches Lari) angegeben. Wir akzeptieren auch € und US$. Wir verwenden die offiziellen Wechselkurse der Bank of Georgia und selbstverständlich fallen keine Gebühren an. Unser Projekt ist recht klein und wir starten in unsere erste Saison, deshalb ist das Zahlen mit Karte derzeit (noch) nicht möglich. Danke für Euer Verständnis!

Unsere Fahrräder sind brandneu und wir kümmern uns gut um die Babys! Die Fahrräder kommen mit Helm und Fahrradschloss. Die Preise sind, je nach Anzahl der Miet - Tage gestaffelt.

Die Preise für unsere geführten Touren
Rund um Mestia gibt es unzählige Möglichkeiten. Unsere Touren beginnen am Morgen und enden am späten Nachmittag. Einige starten direkt in der Stadt, für andere benötigen wir unseren 4WD Mitsubishi Delica, um die Startpunkte zu erreichen. Deshalb haben wir zwei unterschiedliche Preise für das Guiding. Der Preis gilt für das Guiden und wird durch die Anzahl der Gäste geteilt. Der Fahrradverleih ist NICHT inbegriffen. Wenn Ihr Interesse an mehrtägigen geführten Trips mit Übernachtungen in den kleinen Dörfern habt, schickt uns ein Mail und wir beginnen umgehend mit der Planung Eures Bike Abenteuers. Ihr werdet überrascht sein vom guten Preis/Leistungsverhältnis und wie erschwinglich diese Touren sind.

Gut zu wissen
Swanetien ist ein unentdecktes Mountainbike Eldorado. Extrem weitläufig und dünn besiedelt. Anders als in den Alpen, wo in den letzten Jahren ein unglaublicher Boom eingesetzt hat, ist im großen Kaukasus kaum wer mit dem Mountainbike unterwegs. Selten trifft man auf den zahllosen Trails Gleichgesinnte. Es gibt unendlich viel zu entdecken!
Top fitte Radbegeisterte die Trails auf über 3000m planen und sportliche Gelegenheitsbiker die die wunderbaren Forstwege rund um Mestia erkunden wollen, werden ebenso begeistert sein wie Mountainbike Neulinge die den Sport gerade erst für sich entdeckt haben.
Ein Paradies für alle Biker!
Worauf Ihr bei Euren Touren unbedingt achten sollet:
- Anders als das Mountainbiken erfreut sich das Wandern in der Gegend um Swanetien großer Beliebtheit. Wichtig ist immer vorsichtig unterwegs zu sein und entsprechend Rücksicht zu nehmen. Im Zweifel besser eine geführte Tour mitmachen und Stress- und Sorgenfrei die beeindruckende Bergkulisse rund um Mestia genießen.
- Die Menschen in den kleinen Bergdörfern durch die man immer wieder radelt, sind zumeist sehr freundlich und interessiert. Die Swanen mögen´s ein bisschen verrückt und nicht selten kommt es vor, dass man auf einen Tee oder Chacha (traditioneller georgischer Schnaps) eingeladen wird. Aber Vorsicht: selten hat der Hausgebrannte, die in Europa üblichen 40 Prozent. Meist geht´s eher Richtung 60. Auch hier gilt: Wenn Ihr die kleinen Ortschaften passiert, lieber etwas langsamer, rücksichtsvoll und mit offenen Augen unterwegs sein.
- Auf den wenigen asphaltierten Straßen ist Vorsicht geboten, weil, praktisch niemand mit dem Rad unterwegs ist, sind die Locals nicht daran gewöhnt auf Biker Rücksicht zu nehmen. Das ist keineswegs böse Absicht, ist aber im Normalfall einfach nicht notwendig. Wenn man also Teilstücke auf mehr oder weniger befestigten Straßen zurücklegt unbedingt aufpassen und vorsichtig sein.
- Wenn Ihr eine Pause einlegt, denkt daran Euren Abfall mitzunehmen. Bitte lasst nichts in der Natur zurück, damit alles so bleibt wie es ist.

Tagsüber findet Ihr uns am Berg mit unseren Gästen, dann ist niemand im Shop. Wenn Ihr ein Bike leihen wollt, bitte schickt uns eine Nachricht über Whatsapp und Viber oder ein Mail. Wir bereiten dann alles vor und Ihr könnt Euer Rad dann bei uns im Shop abholen. Unser Projekt ist recht klein und wir können nicht immer vor Ort sein, wir bitten um Euer Verständnis!
